Quiet Down Cobwebs.....Babies Don't Keep!

When I had my first son I was reminded very quickly of this poem I saw at my piano teachers house, each week I had my lesson as a child. I searched to find it and wasn't very successful. Fast forward four years and I had my third son and knew that I wanted to find that poem. I searched again and was successful. For Christmas that year I received my Silhouette Cameo!!! This mirror and vinyl was my very first project!

It has been on my wall these past three and a half years and I just love reading the reminder to cherish the noise, the endless stream of messes, and the joy of being a mother.

My First Supply Box- Back to School

So, my littlest boy couldn't be left out!! I just had to made him a label and get him his FIRST supply box! He was pretty excited to be one of the big kids :) Perfect for a toddler still at home, a preschooler or even a Kindergartener- this label says it all!

Honestly? I think THIS guy was the most excited about his box, his name and just the whole thing together! 3 year olds need to be big boys too- right?

Back to School:Supply Box version 2

Back again! Having two boys in school sometimes means I need to make different version of the same thing to fit their varied personalities (and honestly it's just too much fun!) So here is another version of a personalized label you can make for your kiddo's supply box'!!

This boy of mine LOVES purple- probably should have gone with a lighter shade but he LOVES his box so I am not going to worry about it!

Back to School! Pencil Box

It is that time of year- back to school! It seems each year school begins earlier and earlier! Some of my friends have already started!?!?!? Thankfully my boys don't return until the 25th but it is coming fast! I have two needing pencil boxes this year so I decided to make them personalized decals for inside their boxes! This week we have version one as a freebie and next we will will have a different style!! Too fun!!

This is for my son entering 2nd grade.....2nd grade....how did that happen?

By the way... the box is RED- just wanted to point that out since I got in enough 'trouble' putting the pink eraser on the box first before he new what I was making! Now he LOVES it - boys!!

Thanks for stopping by! When do your kids start school?

Narnia- Spare'Oom

I am a fan of Narnia- I grew up watching the original BBC versions and fell in LOVE with the new Disney versions! You find Narnia when you least expect it- who knows you might find it in your own 'spare 'oom'!

Pioneer Day-Remember

I am LDS and each July we celebrate Pioneer Day- a day celebrating when the first Mormon Pioneers traveled west and entered the Great Salt Lake Valley. In Utah, July 24 is consider a state holiday! Living in Wyoming we just muddle through with a small celebration. A few years ago I had the AMAZING opportunity to partake in a PBS documentary filmed about the Handcart Pioneers of the Martin and Willie Handcart companies who were stranded in an early snow storm in the middle of Wyoming! It was a dream come true for me to be in a film and a wonderful experience to catch a glimpse of what the pioneers endured. I wanted to always REMEMBER the sacrifice the pioneers made for their religious freedoms but also to REMEMBER the day my dream came true.

This silhouette is actually taken from an image of me in the film!! Exciting!! I am in the front pulling the handcart. It was cold (-60 with wind chill) the January of 2006 when we filmed in 4 ft snow drifts. When I pulled the cart to the edge of the hill and saw NOTHING in either direction I was overcome with a feeling of helplessness. How did they manage to survive such treacherous conditions?! Many did die but many also survived and were rescued by a group sent their way from Salt Lake. I gained a new appreciation for the men and women who traveled across the plains! Thousands of immigrants traveled west during the 1850's and 1860's using wagons and handcarts before the railroad was completed.

If you have stuck with me this far- here we are- I made a wood wall hanging with this file and it hangs in my hallway!

'Heart' 221B - Sherlock

Okay so I couldn't resist making another Sherlock file! Isn't it just the cutest? Every Sherlock fan has to have a special place in their heart for the legendary 221 B Baker Street! No matter what version you prefer ;)

Personally my favorites are the BBC series and RDJ films- ahhhh Benedict and Robert.... anyway back to the file!
